What We Do

What can you expect when you’re applying for a job at Elan?

The specific interview process may vary based on the role for which you are applying, you can generally expect the following:

Apply: We accept applications on a rolling basis. Before you click the apply button, please be prepared to provide the following: 

  • Upload your resume (preferably in a .pdf format). Please name the document “Last Name_First Name_Resume”.

  • Responses to two short answer questions: 

    • What is your understanding of the "achievement gap" and why does it exist?

    • If you had to choose between self-esteem and academic achievement which do you choose? Why? What are the pros and cons of this choice?

Video Interview: Selected applicants will participate in a video-based interview via SparkHire. This will provide an opportunity for you to share more about your interest in working at Élan, and help us to get to know you better beyond your application and resume. If you are new to video-based interviewing, you can find helpful tips here.

1:1 Interview: After the video interview, select applicants are invited to an interview with a hiring manager.

Sample Teaching Lesson: We will look for your ability to lead a 25-45 minute sample lesson. We will observe your classroom management instincts, your overall teacher personality, and lesson delivery.

Reference Check: A member of our hiring team will contact your references at some point during the process. We will notify you before contacting any of your references.
